Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Account info | Email address, authentication identity (via Clerk) |
| Profile info | Name, age, calorie/protein/water goals, accent color preference |
| Health & fitness data you log | Meals, water intake, weight entries, workout routines and completions, supplements taken |
| AI coach conversations | Messages you send to the in-app coach, and the responses generated |
| Billing info | Subscription status, trial/renewal dates — full payment details are handled and stored by Stripe, not by us |
2. How We Use It
- To provide the Service — storing your logs, showing your trends, and generating AI responses using your actual data (e.g., today's calories and protein when the coach answers a question).
- To manage your subscription and billing.
- To maintain and improve the Service, including diagnosing bugs and monitoring for abuse.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Who We Share It With
We use the following service providers to operate FitnessOver50. Each only receives the data it needs to do its job:
- Clerk — authentication and account sign-in
- Stripe — subscription billing and payment processing
- Anthropic (Claude) — powers AI features (meal suggestions, workout generation, the coach, and similar). Relevant data (e.g., today's meals and goals) is sent to Anthropic's API to generate a response.
- USDA FoodData Central — public nutrition database used for food lookups
- Render — cloud hosting for our servers and database
We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
4. Data Retention & Deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing us — see Contact below.
5. Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls that ensure only your own account can read your data. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
6. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children, and account holders must be 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
7. Your Rights
You can access, correct, or delete your data by using the app directly or by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law (e.g., GDPR or CCPA); contact us to exercise them.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
